About

The South African Colliery Managers’ Association.
Since 1979 the Association has valued its members involvement and has demonstrated inspirational leadership throughout the coal mining industry. SACMA is an organisation of Colliery Mining Managers, representing 8 Mining Houses and some smaller operators with 43 Mine operations in 4 provinces.
The accountabilities of the organization are to Ensure knowledge transfer of Coal Industry practices between current and future members, Provide structure for networking between members and affiliates with major stakeholders. SACMA wants to ensure sharing of best practices to add value to the member and business while providing the vehicle that is the mechanism for social interaction between members.
SACMA is also recognized through the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Voluntary Association which provides some influence in terms of the accreditation of learning materials and institutions, as well as strengthening the Association’s role with regard to registration matters.

The South African Colliery Managers’ Association needs your help.  Help us reach our goal of R250 000. Achieving this goal will allow us to buy carpentry, sewing and bricklaying equipment for Langalethu Drop-in Centre in Emalahleni, a woman run NPO (Reg 224-469 NPO) which caters to single mothers and the elderly. Your donation will also pay for skills development for these equipment and enterprise development for sustainable impact.
